The roundel displays the crest (distinctive feature displayed above a coat of arms) of Charles Brandon, First Duke of Suffolk – a gold lion head with white drops (gouttes) crowned with a white ducal coronet. The crest is surrounded by a decorative band of winged putto heads linked by volutes. The pane with a fragment of a coronet at the lower right is a replacement possibly from another panel in the same series. A second roundel with the related arms is also owned by the museum (Arms of Charles Brandon).
