Museo Poldi Pezzoli

Museo Poldi Pezzoli
Milano, Italy

The carpet is made up of twenty-four pieces from the borders of a single carpet. They are fragments with a dark blue ground decorated with arabesques and fragments with a yellow and green ground.
The use of the “jufti knot”, a special knot tied over four warps rather than two, the distinctive range of colouring and the quality of the wool enable the carpet to identified as a Khorassan.
