Herbert Felton, affectionately known to his friends as 'Leo', was a professional photographer who specialised in architectural subjects. In May 1941 he was appointed the first official staff photographer of the National Buildings Record (NBR), which was set up to record buildings under threat from wartime bombing. He would continue to photograph for the NBR until 1963. This photograph shows his darkroom at his home in Cookham Wood.
