The picture represents Hercules while he is suffocating the giant Antaeus in the presence of the Mother Earth. Antaeus is a giant of the Greek mythology who took his strenght from Earth and was said to be invincible. It is a fresco detached from the walls of the private apartments of the Prince Meli Lupi at the beginning of the XX century, realised by Nicolò dell'Abate in the early 16th century.
