Unlike his grandfather, Sir Francis Warre, and his father, John Bampfylde, who modified Hestercombe House extensively in the late 17th and early 18th centuries, Coplestone Warre Bampfylde did not alter the building to any great degree, during his ownership of the property 1750-91.
