Following his trip across Europe in 1956 after his long American period, Pablo Serrano began his series Irons. He created this series of sculptures out of his desire for order in chaos, using scrap materials such as metal sheets, iron pieces, and stones. To create this series he became completely immersed in informalist abstraction, and it also established him as an internationally renowned artist.
