High jump

To push your body into the air in a vertical leap, your muscles and bones work together in three phases:
1. The body lowers to catch the momentum and the muscles work to flex the knees, hips and ankles; 2. During the jump, knee, hip and ankle extend, and buttocks and leg muscles launch from the ground; 3. When landing, it is the lower back that reduces the impact before returning to an upright position.
