Collections CCGW/CCGG 2016.3.1.1-70 Canadian Soldier climbing up gun emplacement with destruction from the Battle of Hill 70 in August of 1917, visible in the surrounding landscape. The Canadian Corps occupied the hill to draw German soldiers away from the Flanders Front during the 3rd Battle of Ypres (July- November 1917).
