The so-called circus cup is produced in the Roman Empire. It belonged to a male member of the royal family at Himlingøje - he was probably the founder of a very rich settlement at Stevns. When he was buried in the first half of the third century AD, very fine Roman equipment consisting an armring of gold, two golden rings, jewelry and two arrowheads made of bone was buried with him.
