Left sheet: Coronation of Massimiano. the story of Saint Donnino begins with the coronation of the roman emperor Massimiano; the emperor seated on a travel throne, receives Donnino, his "cubicularius", i.e. a court official responsable for the private chambers and the symbols of power: sceptre (power stick), the globe (the subdued world), the crown (sign of the hierarchy). Right sheet: the conversion of Saint Donnino; Donnino up with joined hands is followed by his companions; Donnino asks the emperor to dismiss him because of his faith; on the frame the inscription: LINENCIA .ACCEPTA. DEO. SERVIRE. DECRE[VIT] (the leave received, he decided to serve God). Above the sheets vegetal spirals.
