This portrait is of the artist's father, Hoa Bang Huynh. In his early 20s, he biked to Vietnam with falsified documents escaping the Cambodian genocide, eventually meeting Phung's mother and forming a family.
He returned to Cambodia, where he lives today, to help invest and redevelop the economy, receiving a medal of honor from the Cambodian Prime Minister for creating jobs in Cambodia.
