Hock E Aye Vi Edgar Heap of Birds: Neufs for Oklahoma site-specific installation brings to life Heap of Birds’s Neuf paintings, his signature interpretation of the wooded canyons near his mother’s home. The vibrant, layered diagonal shapes evoke an earthly energy, with jagged edges that suggest the natural forces of the landscape. Neuf, inspired by the Cheyenne word for the number four, carries deep cosmological significance with each piece shaped by the powerful symbolism of the tetrad, regardless of scale or location.
Presented in collaboration with Hock E Aye Vi Edgar Heap of Birds, Project Backboard, and Common Practice.
