Hoh Garment (Bugaku costume), Animal roundel design on light blue plain silk

This garment features woodblock print designs of lion (or possibly bear) roundels, with red highlights around the mouth, eyes and on the paw pads, and claws painted in silver. According to an inscription on the reverse side, it was made in 1454. In addition to this light blue ho used in saho (dances of the left side), a yellow colored garment used in uho (dances of the right side) is owned by Kongobuji temple.

- Object Notes(Japanese): 木版で獅子（あるいは熊）の丸文を表わし、口や掌、目の縁に朱を挿す。また、獣の爪は銀泥で彩色される。裏地の墨書銘によれば、享徳3年(1454)に調製。蛮絵装束は左方の縹袍の他、金剛峯寺には右方の黄色袍がある。
