Dai Ze, born in 1922, was born in Yunyang County of Sichuan province. He entered the National Central University and studied under Xu Beihong, Lv Sibai and Fu Baoshi. He graduated in 1946 and became the teaching assistant and lecturer in National Beiping Art College. He successively held the posts of lecturer,associate professor and professor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts.
