Holloway prison medal awarded to the suffragette Florence Haig. The circular silver medal is engraved 'DX 3 28' referring to Haig's Holloway Prison wing and cell number. Attached to a purple white and green ribbon the medal is also engraved with the dates of Haig's 2 prison sentences served in 1908: '1st July 1908 3 months and 12 Feb 1908 six weeks'. The February sentence refers to Haig's arrest for taking part in the 'pantechnicon raid' on the House of Commons, whilst in July she was imprisoned for taking part in a suffragette deputation from Caxton Hall to the Houses of Parliament.
