The picture shows one of the post office’s first electric motor postage vehicles. In 1899–1900, it was operational on a trial basis in Berlin. Its exterior design still oriented itself strongly towards the stagecoaches of the time. Since then, the post office has mainly used electric vehicles in local and suburban areas.
