Home Altar (Ofrenda)

"Ofrenda" is a silk painting in the French Serti style, and finished in wax batik to add layers of texture and contrast. This piece was the first of several which draws on the observation of the "Dia de los Muertos" cultural traditions.

Leslie MacMillan has a unique, illustrative silk painting technique. She draws much inspiration from global cultures, mythology, and the natural wonders of Florida. She enjoys being active in Central Florida’s vibrant arts community.
