The mouth of a mature gourd fruit is cut with a knife and water poured inside to stay for ten days then poured out and cleaned for use. The handle is made from leather strap and manila spring bound together at the top with brass wire. The lid is made from the bark of kuskusya plant used only for carrying and storing honey beer.
