National Museums of Kenya
Nairobi, Kenya

Round undecorated pot with a narrow neck with a leather bead decorated lid and leather handles fixed on through the holes in the pot. The pot is made by women potters and used by everybody for holding honey. Some women prefer honey pot to honey baskets as the pot lasts longer than a basket. However, since pots are not easily carried they can have a very short lifespan.
