Hong Kong United Dockyard at Tsing Yi

In the face of increasingly competitive environment, Hong Kong United Dockyard Limited (HUD) was formed in 1973 by the merger of Hong Kong & Whampoa Dock Company Limited and Taikoo Dockyard & Engineering Company. The Dock of HUD was found at the west coast of Tsing Yi Island, northwest of Sai Tso Wan. After the completion of HUD, the land of Taikoo and Whampoa Dock were employed to develop a large private housing estate, which is Taikoo Shing and Whampoa Garden nowadays.
