Horse or camel saddlebag

A saddlebag for a horse or camel made by the Tuareg, a mostly nomadic Berber population living in the central Sahara region. The Tuareg are famous for their leatherwork, which they use to make saddles, saddlebags, cushions, cases, and much more.
The goatskin leather is embroidered and decorated with impressed, stitched, or removed designs; tassels and fringes are attached so as to sway with the movement of the camel. The colors used come from dyes obtained with indigo, pomegranate, sorghum, and minerals.
