Large round gold vermeil hinge-lidded inkwell, on the heavily ornamented lid of which is the coat of arms of the House of Windsor. Inscribed on interior of inkwells lid: "To / President Franklin Roosevelt / as a souvenir of my visit to the / United States of America / from George R. I. [engraved signature] / 8th - 11th June 1939." Interior of inkwell is fitted with off-whites sponge-like material in the center of which is a brass and opaque glass inkwell surrounded by three protruding brass pen holders.
