Houses with mining damage

The fear of mining damage to residential buildings is still a cause for fear among inhabitants of mining regions to this day. Depending on the geographic location, there are often discussions about possibly required migrations and resettlement programs to move people out of endangered regions. The RAG Deutsche Steinkohle AG has assured that any damage resulting from mining operations can still be reported for the next 30 years and that financial compensation will be provided to the victims. Approximately 8.2 billion EUR are available across the nation for the coverage of damages resulting from mining operations according to the Saarland's Ministry for Economic Affairs.
