One of the foremost names in equestrian history is Antoine Pluvinel (1555-1620). He is credited to be one of the first riding instructors to advocate a loving relationship between man and horse. His book "Le maneige royal" or "L'instruction du Roy" was engraved by Crispin de Passe.
