The HP-35 was the world's first scientific pocket calculator. Before it came along, slide rules and logarithm tables were required for trigonometric and exponential functions. Pocket calculators were only capable of the four basic arithmetic operations. The price for an HP-35 in 1972 was about DM 2,000. Photo: Jan Braun, HNF
