Hummingbird

The artist creates zoomorphic images of her subjects based on their own self-identification with characteristics related to certain animals. McCambridge expands this concept, building on her perception of the subject, in the case of "Hummingbird," a friend. She relates the swift wing beats of a hummingbird to the fast heartbeat caused by social anxiety. She balances this by placing the subject within a peaceful, blissful setting.
