Hut 11A Time Capsule

Alongside the Heritage Lottery Funded restoration project, Bletchley Park Trust has undertaken other restoration work including restoring Huts 11 and 11a.
A small time capsule dated 1942 was discovered by the builders inside an internal door from Hut 11a during restoration. The smaller note is written on part of the fine-grained sand paper.
Bill Haydon, Bob Watson and Vic Watson were carpenters that worked at Bletchley Park.
This time capsule was inserted inside the door so it is likely that they were making and fitting these doors and other items prior to Hut 11a becoming operational in early 1942.
