In 1592 (25th year in the reign of King Seonjo), the invading Japanese forces had marched their way up to Pyeongyangseong Fortress. This documentary painting shows Hyujeong, a monk of the Seon (Zen) school of Korean Buddhism, leading an army of monks advancing on Japanese positions near Pyeongyang.
