i Wau Culacula. Paddle club. This i Wau Culacula is carved from wood into a flat pointed blade tapering into a long cylindrical handle. It is medium brown in colour with a polished patina. There is a big hole of wood eaten away in the centre of the blade possibly due to pest activity. All surfaces are carved in triangular sections of tavatava (zigzag light relief decorative carving). There are notches at the sid edges of the paddle blade. The butt of the handle of the i voce is cracked, and is carved with a prominent teki ni wai (knob) at its end. There is a chip at one side edge of the blade.
