i Wau Vunikau. Rootstock club. The knobbled head of this club is shaped from natural rootstock and is carved to taper into a smooth cylindrical shaft with thick braided magimagi (coconut sennit) cord wrapped around the grip. A metal nail is hammered into the centre of the butt. The wood of the i wau vunikau is reddish brown in colour with some patina and fine cracks in the surface.
