Study of high transverse momentum phenomena (experiment R108, CERN-Columbia-Oxford-Rockefeller Collaboration. The aims of the experiment include an investigation of the dilepton spectrum at high mass and the particles produced in association, and a measurement of the particles produced in events containing a large transverse momentum π⁰. The detection equipment at intersection 1 of the ISR involved a superconducting solenoid magnet of 70 cm radius and 1.5 m length, and a number of cylindrical drift chambers, scintillation and Cerenkov counters.)
