Jessie says: "I’d never done a colour portrait before so it was definitely out of my comfort zone. But it was a good excuse to push myself and have the freedom to experiment and I’m really pleased with the end result. A lot of the portraits are from posed images but I wanted mine to highlight the issues paramedics like Ian, and other frontline workers faced and obviously PPE has been one of those issues."
Ian says: "Knowing of Jess and her incredible talent of painting yachts that struck a cord with me being a lifeboatman in the past, I thought 'This is the only artist that I could envisage reflecting my daily work as a frontline Paramedic' and what an incredible privilege it was to be remembered in this way.
It is something that I will treasure forever."
