Museo Juan Cabré

Museo Juan Cabré
Calaceite, Spain

Iberian falcata sword made of iron and repaired with two rivets. It comprises three iron sheets that have been forge welded together by heating them to a high temperature. The main blade is in an inverted S-shape with the base wider than the tip. The rear blade is slightly curved from handle to tip. The original shape of the handle is unknown, since it is broken, but they were generally shaped like a horse's head or bird of prey.
