Oblong, curved sides, featuring raised decoration of male figure skater in 19th century dress, muff over hands, boy on sled, harbor background with sail boats, coastal buildings, all framed by c-scrolls and floral motifs, stamped "ALPACCA" near top, as well as unidentified maker's mark just below. Reverse features pastoral scene with 2 females in 19th century country dress, hoisting bags on to donkey's back, sheep and dog nearby, church in background, all framed by c-scrolls. Interior match container slides out of external, decorated sleeve, small thumb catch near top edge. Striker on top side.
