Main telegraph table at Iceland's first telegraph station in Seydisfjordur, opened in 1906. The Station was on one hand, connected by a 534 nautical mile submarine cable to mainland Europe via The Faroe Islands to the Shetland Islands, and on the other hand to the capital, Reykjavík by a 600 km long landline supported by 14.000 wooden telephone poles.
