Made by telegraphist Thorsteinn Gíslason in 1913, this is the first wirless transmitter in iceland. He and his friend, Fridbjorn Adalsteinsson, inaugurated the age of wireless technology in Iceland by sending and receiving morse code from his home to the next house about 60 metres away. The first wireless, reciprocal communication in Iceland happened in 1914 between Thorsteinn and a radio operator aboard a French warship laying in the fjord outside of Seyðisfjordur town.
