A paper manuscript in Polish in the form of a notebook by Ignacy Domeyko on the first days of April 1831 in Lithuania. Ignacy Domeyko, also known under the pseudonym Żegota, was a mineralogist and geologist and a close friend of Adam Mickiewicz. He participated in the November Uprising 1830–1831. In 1838 he began working in Chile, to become a rector of the University of Santiago in 1867.

  • Provenance: On the back cover the inscription: “This diary was written by Ignacy Domejko during his stay in the vicinity of Elbląg, where General Rybicki's corps was deployed after passing into Prussia near Brodnica. When Domejko learnt that Franciszek Mickiewicz was on his way to Poznań region, where his brother Adam was expecting him at my father's, he gave him this Diary, which, on leaving Łuków, together with other memorabilia, Adam M. left to my father. Insbruck, in August 1890. Adam Grabowski”. In 1897, together with the Grabowski family archive, this manuscript was purchased by the National Institute from A. Grabowski.
