Igshaan Adams was Social Fabric artist-in-residence exploring off-cuts. Formally, much of Igshaan's work is informed by weaving; a fundamental process in making many textiles. Conceptually, he also draws primarily on his identity and experiences as a gay Muslim man to weave his pieces, the most well-known of which are prayer mats with Islamic script detailing made of various materials. Whilst the work is personal, it also evokes the haptic so resonates with those who are also in search of themselves.
