For Social Fabric's 4th and last iteration, we worked with off-cuts, or post-production waste. Igshaan Adams was artist-in-residence visiting various textile manufacturers to learn about the production process including how off-cuts come about. The work shown is made using remnants of shoe elastic to which Igshaan sewed a piece of wire. In this way he takes away the primary value of the elastic, its softness, but gives it a different value, the ability to be sculpted.
