Il Gallo in Italian is “the rooster” struts across this fruit carte label. It is circa the mid-1940’s and was used by the Pantaleo Bros company, located in Fresno, CA. Founded by brothers Frank and Vito Pantaleo, the company was one of several Italian-American brands in the California produce industry in the 1940’s. The brothers joined forces early in the 1940’s with the Lamanuzzi brothers and created Lamanuzzi and Pantaleo, which is still located in Fresno today and specializes in grapes, raisins and wine products.
