Illustration by Anna Waser of alpine scenes

From a manuscript describing alpine journeys by J J Scheuzer, entitled Descriptio Itineris Alpini, Annis 1703, 1704 et 1705, per summas Helvetiae et totius Europae Alpes facti, a J Jacobo Scheuchzero, MD, Mathescos Professore Societatum Leopoldinae et Regiarum Anglicae et Prussiacae Membro.

The manuscript illustration was commissioned to the illustrator Anna Waser who also drew most of the plates in the book. An established Swiss painter, Anna Waser was particularly renown for her pastoral scenes.
