A female bust (Sappho) carved in classical style. The figure wears a V-shaped garment draped around her shoulders. The brows are linear above almond-shaped eyes, the nose is flat and angular, and the lips are in the shape of a cupid's bow. The hair is coiffed in the "melon" style at the front and interrupted by four braids wrapped around the head and clipped close to the nape of the neck. The hair at the top of the head radiates from the crown and in shallowly carved, undulating waves. A hole is drilled in each ear. Part of the proper right ear is missing and the entire surface is covered with a yellow-brown patina. The entire right side is covered in white incrustation. There is an inscription on the garment at the bottom of the bust.
