This print depicts a scene from a drama titled "Imoseyama Onna Teikin". A young man and woman, who are separated by the Yoshinogawa River, love each other. However, their families are bitter enemies. Suffering from such situation, the two young people finally decided to die. This story is compared to the Japanese version of Romeo and Juliet.
