In 2020

This bold text piece was made during a BALTIC Foundation Club session by Alasdair, Eilidh and Kika, working with artists Zoe Murtagh and Laura Stutter Garcia. We talked about what we would tell someone from the past about the year 2020, and turned our answers into a piece of writing.
We also created a design brief together, thinking about how we would want these words presented in a visual way - we thought about colour, text size/style and font, and how these all played a role in how the text would be received by the viewer.
We had looked at examples of manifesto, poetry and free writing in sessions.

This piece was made at BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art as part of Arts Council England's The Way I See It project which captures the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic on the lives of children and young people, articulated in their own voices, through their own creativity.
