Description: A naturalist painter, Jean-Louis Forain liked to observe contemporary life. His interest in the hidden aspects of society extended from the theatrical to the financial world, intrigued by the interactions in the corridors of the Paris’ Stock Exchange. On these two small wooden panels, Forain sketched two financiers exchanging useful tips in a bold and confident style.
