In homage to Italian art!

Italy - Biennale Arte 2015
Venezia, Italy

In his first video installation, one of the maestri of European cinema –
awarded the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival in 2006 – reflects
on his relationship with Rome, the city where he has lived since 1969.
Filmed in New York with the help of Iranian filmmaker Amir Naderi, the
work of Jean-Marie Straub creates a relation between the material decline
of one of his most controversial films, History Lessons (1972), with
the moral and political decadence of contemporary Italy. An archive of
notes, annotations, voices, accompanies the work.
