This work was painted from Lord Dundonald’s personal account of the event showing from the spectator’s left to right: Capt Birdwood, a trooper, Winston Churchill, a trooper, Lord Dundonald, Lieut. Cleeves and more troopers. A sketch exists in RAMM files along with letters from the artist. Sketches for the work are also in a private collection.
