Wan's paintings often depict everyday phenomena or subjects of modern society which he finds interesting or sarcastic. Taking a close look at this painting with traditional subject of bamboo and rocks, one will find soft drink cans and car keys intriguingly distributed in the landscape, indicating a contemporary context of the scene. The humorous inscription tells how an artist would parrot whatever other say about their work.
