This incense case is applied with an ultramarine glaze except the bottom and the fitting parts of the lid and container. It has an inscription "Banko" on the bottom. This piece is said to be the Banko ware made at the kiln in Kuwana, Ise Province. The kiln was opened in the 18th century.
