Incense Pot

This incense pot is curved from soapstone dug from the hills around Mogadishu. An axe (masar) and adze are used to carve the stone. The pot is used by women who place hot charcoal in the burner and add some sweet smelling spices. They use it to keep themselves and their houses smelling nice.
